1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ImmLex, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use this platform.

ImmLex is a legal intelligence platform designed for use by regulated immigration professionals. These terms apply to all users, including Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants, immigration lawyers, and authorized professional staff.

2. Professional Use Only

ImmLex is intended for professional use by qualified immigration practitioners. Users represent that they:

  • Are licensed or authorized to practice immigration law or consulting in Canada
  • Will use ImmLex only in connection with professional practice
  • Will exercise independent professional judgment when relying on any information provided
  • Will not substitute ImmLex output for required legal analysis or professional responsibility

3. No Legal Advice

ImmLex provides legal information and research support. It does not provide legal advice.

All analysis, citations, risk indicators, and draft documents are informational tools designed to support professional decision-making. They do not constitute professional advice and must not be relied upon as such.

Users retain full professional responsibility for all work product, advice, and representations made to clients, IRCC, or any other party.

4. Accuracy and Currency

ImmLex makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate, current information. However:

  • Immigration law and policy change frequently
  • Guidance may be updated between your access and subsequent verification
  • Interpretation of legal sources requires professional judgment
  • Case-specific facts may affect the applicability of cited authorities

Users are responsible for verifying the currency and applicability of all information before relying on it in professional practice.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ImmLex and its operators disclaim all liability for:

  • Professional decisions made based on information provided by the platform
  • Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in legal sources or analysis
  • Changes to law or policy that occur after information is provided
  • Client outcomes, regulatory proceedings, or professional consequences
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Users assume all risk associated with professional use of ImmLex and agree to indemnify ImmLex against claims arising from such use.

6. Intellectual Property

ImmLex platform features, structure, and presentation are protected by intellectual property rights. Users may:

  • Use analysis results in connection with professional practice
  • Save and reference information for client matters
  • Generate drafts and outputs for professional work product

Users may not:

  • Redistribute ImmLex platform access to unauthorized parties
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to replicate platform functionality
  • Scrape, copy, or systematically extract platform content for commercial purposes

7. User Conduct

Users agree not to:

  • Misuse the platform or attempt unauthorized access
  • Share login credentials with unauthorized individuals
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Input confidential client information beyond what is necessary for analysis

8. Termination

ImmLex reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, misuse of the platform, or any other reason at its sole discretion.

9. Modifications

ImmLex may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
